Service-learning (SL) Subjects
Service-learning is a core academic pedagogy in PolyU's new 4-year undergraduate curriculum. Service-learning entails activities that directly serve people in need and civic engagement activities that indirectly serve the community or an underprivileged group. Therefore, services for disaster victims or underprivileged communities have formed a component of many service-learning subjects at PolyU.

Cluster Area Requirements (CAR) Subjects
Cluster area requirements (CAR) subjects are designed to allow students to expand their intellectual capacity beyond their disciplinary domain. These subjects enable students to tackle professional and global issues from a multidisciplinary perspective.
